The Story Of The Hair Tie

On Tuesday night, I got home late from the farm, and I had yet to do my workout for the day. It was pushing eight and I still wanted to go over to my grandmas to wish her a happy birthday.I was scrambling around changing my clothes and looking for a hair tie. I kept thinking, “I don’t want to go upstairs and search. So, please just let me have one in my room.” So, I gave my room one last scan and, thankfully, found one on top of my radio.

Right when I saw it I said, out loud, “There is a God in Heaven and He does love me.” I then started to laugh and think, that is so over dramatic. All I did was find a hair  tie, without having to go upstairs, but was it really about the hair tie to God? I think not. I think it was a lesson that I needed to learn and He decided to teach me in the simplest way.

I need to praise Him not just for the big victories, but for the small ones as well. I need to always remember the story of the hair tie, so when I feel like I am getting nowhere, because everything is just happening in baby steps, I need to remember that those baby steps are still accomplishments. Those baby steps are still progress. Those baby steps are a gift from God, and I need to sing His praise always.

So, now that you have heard, the story of the hair tie, I am going to challenge you to the hair tie challenge. Below are 30 verses, one for each day of the month of November.
