I get so caught up in the things that I want and my own personal “needs” I truly forget for sometimes weeks, what my true purpose in this world is. Ever since I was little, I have always had these “obsessions” and I would be all about whatever the newest thing on my mind was. As I got older it got better, but I found that I wanted to be involved in EVERYTHING. I became obsessed with the idea of being able to do anything. This has caused me to stumble multiple times in life. I would stress out about one little thing being out of line. That’s when it really hit me, when was the last time I let go of the steering wheel and said, “Jesus, you are in control. My life is yours to do with as you please.”
Now this is not an easy thing to do if you are a control freak like me. Nor is it easy to do if you aren’t, but one thing is for sure, once you let go of that wheel you will realize how good it truly feels to hand over all over your fears and worries and problems to God. He’s wanting you to lean on him for comfort. He is wanting you to let him take that wheel, so that he can steer you down the path to joy, love, and happiness. So, in times of stress and discomfort remember to lean on God and hand your worries over to him. He loves you.
“Don’t worry about anything: instead pray about everything.” Philippians 4:6
