Yesterday, I stood up in front of the church to do the normal Sunday routine and pray over all of the children in the church. When I grabbed the mic, I felt the Lord leading me to be vulnerable and ask the church to pray for me and a few projects that I have going on. It doesn’t sound like much, but that was huge for me. I do not like asking for help. I do not like looking weak, but I came down from the podium feeling freer than I have in a long time. I made my heart known to the people around me, and knowing that they are praying and understanding what is going on in my life, even just a little bit, helps me walk a little taller today.
This is why we should be in community. We are made for community. We are all called to carry one another’s burdens, as it says in Galatians 6:2, “ Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Also, here is your reminder that Jesus is the ultimate burden carrier….
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
